A Rough Start

Some adventures begin in a tavern.

This one begins face-down in the sand.

A Rough Start gives you a complete beach encounter with sand, water, wreckage, barrels, ruins, and enough environmental details to make it very clear that something went wrong before the party ever got here. Build out the shoreline with modular water and sand pieces, then scatter the remains of whatever brought your players to this particular stretch of trouble.

There are broken barrels. Skulls in the dirt. Catapult ammunition.

Probably best not to spend too long wondering where the catapult is.
